Mustapha's Place

Zanzibar, Bwejuu, Tanzania, East Africa, budget hotel

Welcome to Paradise

Mustapha's is NOT about hot water and television, it is NOT about hot tubs and tennis courts, it IS about the luxury of nature. If you want to wake up in a coral-walled bungalow, surrounded by vibrant bougainvillea and fragrant frangipani, and walk down to the breathtaking turquoise ocean and soft white sands of Bwejuu beach, then come to Mustapha's.

Our roomsrestaurant and bar are funky, comfortable and original, and there’s always a good mix of travellers from all the countries of the world and locals who enjoy the relaxed ambience of Mustapha's. If you like to meet new people, exchange ideas and experience the real Zanzibar, this is the place for you.

Dreamt up by Mustapha almost a decade ago, and brought into reality by him and his close friend Culture, now managing the place, this is one of the most long-standing hotels in the area. It is also one of the few that is both locally owned and managed. Popular with everyone who likes a rustic local vibe – backpackers, families, honeymooners and older travellers – the only rule is that you must relax... Karibu!
